MOBILE MAPPING SYTEMS

Accurate, fast, survey grade mobile laser scanning has been a dream of those who provide professional digital documentation services. That dream is now a reality.

Next Generation Full-color 3D Mobile Scanning

Sam O. Hirota, Inc. is proud to represent Navvis in Hawai‘i. Investment in this state-of-the-art technology allows fast, accurate capture of interior and exterior spaces.

With the M6’s ability to quickly capture large spaces and the new VLX’s complementary smaller/multi-level capability, SOH can offer full digital capture of any size/configuration of space.

The most important aspects of reality capture are speed and the ability of clients to use the information in meaningful ways.

SOH offers clients a companion viewer that provides interaction with laser scan data on standard web browsers.

Fully immersive

The unique combination of 360° images and 3D scan data provides a realistic experience and lets users move through the digital space as if they are on site

Intuitive

The intuitive user interface makes it easy to use the advanced functions to browse, enrich, and interact with digital buildings

Web-based

SOH Scanning Technician Brian Correa digitally captures the roof of the Ilikai Marina using a "wearable" mobile mapping system. The roof and complex MEP room were scanned in less than one hour.

An entire floor of a local Hawaii hotel's convention hall, foyer, and adjoining rooms were scanned by SOH staff in 45 minutes with little to no disruption to guests. SOH utilized its rolling trolley mobile mapping system for the project.

MEP rooms present challenging environments for laser scanning. Static / terrestrial scanners would need a multitude of scans and many hours of work to capture all of the pipes, tanks, pumps, etc. SOH completed the interior and exterior of the room in 70 minutes.

When architects Urban Works called to assist with their renovation work at the Hawaii State Art Museum, SOH took the opportunity to scan most of the inside and all outside areas of the beautiful historic building.
